ONCB Arrests Two in Thai–Malaysia Transnational Drug Network with 261 kg of Crystal Meth On April 29, 2025, Thailand’s Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) announced the arrest of two suspects involved in a Thai–Malaysia transnational drug trafficking network. Authorities seized 261 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine (ice) in Tha Chang Subdistrict, Bang Klam District, Songkhla Province. After over a month of surveillance, the suspects were found to have used a rental house as a drug storage point before transporting the drugs through Narathiwat Province to a third country. The operation was carried out in collaboration with several domestic agencies and Malaysia’s National Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID). One suspect confessed to previously transporting millions of methamphetamine pills for a payment of 120,000 baht. ONCB Deputy Secretary-General Manat Siripittayawat credited the success to international intelligence cooperation, which significantly boosted efforts to curb drug trafficking and transnational crime in Thailand’s southern border region.
